Committed to the Success and Professional Development of New Mexico

The New Mexico Career Development Association (NMCDA) serves professional counselors and human development specialists employed in schools, colleges, rehabilitation agencies, corrections, mental health areas, private business, and private industry. The purpose of the NMCDA is to promote a greater understanding of the meaning of work and vocation, to foster career development over the lifespan, to establish and improve the standards of professional service in the field of career guidance in New Mexico, and to enhance communication and cooperation among all career development professionals.

NMCDA is a branch of the National Career Development Association. NMCDA offers professional development opportunities and social events throughout the year for its membership. In addition, NMCDA offers an annual conference, bi-annual meetings and lunch and learn professional development opportunities.

President - Jill Bishop

Jill Bishop is the Director of the Center for Student Careers & Employment at San Juan College. Jill has worked at San Juan College for nearly nine years and prior to this position worked in the staffing industry as a Human Resource Manager. Jill has served as the NMCDA Treasurer for eight years. Jill is a Certified Global Career Development Facilitator, Certified Career Services Provider and Certified Resume Writer.

Secretary - Victoria Kirikos

Victoria Kirikos is a graduate from the University of New Mexico where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration through the Anderson School of Management. Her goal is to bring companies that want to hire lobos on to campus so students can become aware of the company’s job and internship opportunities! She enjoys working with the community, exercising, and spending time with her friends, family, and four dogs.

Past President & Professional Development Chair - Sarah Clawson

Career Educator passionate about assisting students and clients in finding a useful professional outlet for their skill sets. Certified to interpret the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the Strong Interest Inventory and trained at the advanced level in Motivational Interviewing. Certified Global Career Development Facilitator and Offender Workforce Development Specialist. Avid pursuant of professional and personal development and instigator of positive workplace interactions.
